Breeze transit, trolleys & airports
Osprey is laid out along US 41 with the Legacy Trail running through town, I-75 a short drive east via Blackburn Road or Clark Road, and the county's Breeze buses on the US 41 corridor connecting Sarasota and Venice. The Historic Venice Train Depot, about 10 minutes south, is the Breeze transfer hub and the Legacy Trail's southern trailhead. Parking is easiest at the county parks and trailheads, with North Jetty's free lot about 5 minutes south at the inlet.

Beaches
Osprey itself has no public Gulf beach, so no beach below is labeled local. The honest geography matters: Nokomis Beach and North Jetty are the public accesses for the Osprey side of the coast, and Casey Key stays residential for most of its length with public access only at its south end. Sarasota County's oldest public beach at 100 Casey Key Rd, Nokomis: free parking (limited, fills fast in season), year-round lifeguards, restrooms, boardwalk, playground, volleyball, a canoe and kayak launch and boat ramp, a 1954 historic pavilion and the Wednesday and Saturday sunset drum circle. Dogs are not permitted on the beach.
DirectionsFree parking, lifeguards, a playground and the walkable fishing jetty at the Venice Inlet at 1000 S Casey Key Rd, Nokomis. Sunsets over the inlet draw the whole neighborhood; the North Jetty walkway is open for fishing and strolling.
DirectionsAcross the Blackburn Point swing bridge, Casey Key is a private, residential island for almost its entire length. Public beach access exists only at the county parks at the south end, Nokomis Beach and North Jetty; there is no public parking on the island's north half.
