About Five Nine Grill & Tavern
Five Nine Grill & Tavern moved south this summer: the well-loved Manatee County gastropub from 5718 Cortez Road West opened its second location, and its first in Sarasota County, at Blackburn Point Plaza in Osprey on August 10, 2026. The kitchen bills itself as 90 percent scratch, with Southern comfort plates served from breakfast through dinner, hand-pressed burgers, and a full bar of local craft beer. The first month of a brand-new address is a great time to get in before word spreads.

Ambiance
A locally owned, 90 percent-scratch neighborhood gastropub open daily from 9 AM to 10 PM, with brunch 9 AM-2 PM, lunch 2-4 PM, and dinner 4-10 PM. Expect a relaxed pub room, a full bar with local craft beers and signature cocktails (the Casamigos margarita is $16), a kids menu, and gluten-free options.
Why It's Worth a Visit
Osprey has been the missing link for a proper sit-down gastropub between Sarasota and Venice, and Five Nine closed the gap in one move. The scratch kitchen shows in the burgers, the jambalaya, and a grouper sandwich sourced through Local Seafood in Tampa Bay. Early September still feels like a local opening, making it easy to grab a table before the winter-season rush.
