Lido Beach, Pool & Pavilion is at 400 Ben Franklin Drive on Lido Key, about 10 minutes from downtown Sarasota across the John Ringling Causeway. St. Armands Circle, with its shops and sidewalk cafes, sits at the island's center, a few minutes from the beach by foot or car.

Dogs are not allowed on Lido Beach. The City of Sarasota prohibits dogs on city beaches by ordinance, with only trained service animals excepted. - Shelling is modest but honest: expect smaller shells rather than a premier shelling stretch. Best finds are walking south away from the main pavilion, and early morning just after high tide is the best time to look.
09 · North Lido
North Lido Beach: The Quiet End
We folded North Lido Beach into this page rather than giving it a separate one, because almost everything you need to know is about where it sits relative to Lido Beach. North Lido is the natural, undeveloped stretch at the north end of Lido Key, where John Ringling Boulevard meets Ben Franklin Drive. It is noticeably quieter and more secluded than the main Lido Beach, with native vegetation and sandy paths instead of a pavilion.
- Parking is very limited: a small lot at the north end, often fewer than 20 spaces, plus whatever street parking you can find. No overnight parking.
- No restrooms, no showers, no concessions and no lifeguards. The nearest facilities are at Lido Beach, about a mile south.
- Pets are not permitted, with only trained service animals excepted.
- Nearest park address: North Lido Beach Park, 159 Emerson Drive, Sarasota. The beach access itself sits at the north end of Ben Franklin Drive.

- No dogs on Lido Beach or North Lido (City of Sarasota ordinance; service animals excepted).
- Glass containers are not allowed on Sarasota County beaches; city beach rules are similar, mark glass as a no-go and use cans or plastic.
- No open fires on the sand; grilling policies at the city beach are unconfirmed, so stick to the picnic areas or grill at home.
- Respect posted hours and parking limits; the beach is open roughly 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
- Sea turtle nesting season, May through October: fill holes, clear the beach at night and keep lights off after dark.
